One of the world’s finest choirs, Seraphic Fire celebrates a candle-lit Christmas singing timeless carols – The First Noel, Joy to the World, Silent Night, Carol of the Bells – and a musical presentation of the famed 1823 American poem “’Twas the night before Christmas.” To incorporate the ambience of the poem, a choral arrangement of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy will be performed as well as a Latvian composition, Only in Sleep by Erik Esenvalds, featuring a stunningly beautiful soprano solo. There are new works by Audrey Snyder, The Christmas Processional, Sally Beamish’s In the Stillness, and June Collin’s The Quiet Heart. Seraphic Fire has never sung Jolly Old St. Nicholas, but he appears on the roof of the house in the poem so our singers will delight the audience with a special rendition.
A Pre-Concert Conversation will be presented one hour prior to the performance. Tickets and subscriptions are on sale now at SeraphicFire.org and by phone at 305.285.9060.
